Canadian rapper Drake shred his desire to move to Dubai. Drake, who is currently living in Toronto, has visited the city on multiple occasions. He has also been very public about his admiration for Dubai on the social media platform like Instagram.
His love for Dubai is so much that it could not be hidden even in his songs. “I want to move to Dubai, so I don’t never have to kick it with none of you guys,” the line in “Free Smoke” from his 2017 album “More Life” shows his heartiest desire. In “Sacrifices”, which features Young Thug, Drake sings, “I got Dubai plates in the California state.”
It is worth noting that the Canadian superstar rapper is a very close friend of two of UAE royals- Sheikh Mansoor and Sheikh Hamdan Al-Maktoum. Sheikh Hamadan Al-Maktoum is the sons of the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum. Drake also refers to the Dubai princes as his family in the song “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” which features Rick Ross as well. It sings, “And that’s facts, Hamdan Mohammed like my third cousin (Facts)/Mansoor Mohammed like my real brother (Facts)/Dubai embrace me like a Emirati (Facts).”
The Grammy award-winning star has hinted at his ties with the royals back in 2015, in an Instagram post from his visit to Dubai. He stated to looking like Sheikh Mansoor, he jokingly stated that he was his “long lost brother.”
