The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Saturday openednew bridge linking Al Manama and Al Meydan Streets, getting over the Dubai Al Ain Road.
The previous roundabouton this intersection has been annihilated, and the RTA has changed the inclining closures of the current bridges on Al Meydan Street.
The bridge broadens 328 meters and comprises of 4 paths toward every path that can oblige 16,000 vehicle each hour with the inclining closures of the bridge span 400 meters.
Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, said that the new bridge linking Al Manama and Al Meydan Streets is part of the Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project currently under construction by RTA.
The venture scope covers building six vital crossing points and augmenting the street from 3 to 6 paths toward every path over a 17 km stretch from the convergence with the Emirates Road to the crossing point of Bu Kadra and Ras Al Khor, said Al Tayer.
“The project incorporates commenting of the roadways at the crossing point of Al Manama Street and Dubai Al Ain Road, and building a 4-land span toward every path to connect Al Meydan and Al Manama Streets and serve the development projects of Meydan. The intersection will improve the traffic safety and ease the traffic flow on the intersection during peak hours,” he added.
