Multiple vehicles crashed in Dubai because of dense fog on Wednesday morning, the police have said.
The accident between “a few” vehicles was accounted for on Emirates Road, after Al Ruwaiya Bridge towards Abu Dhabi.
The Dubai Police cautioned of dense fog nearby and encouraged drivers to drive cautiously.
As dense fog immersed different pieces of the country toward the beginning of today, authorities had reported the decrease of speed limits on some significant streets.
Notwithstanding, in the most recent update, Abu Dhabi Police have now expressed that speed limits on Abu Dhabi’s outside streets are back to ordinary.
Police had declared speed limit decrease on significant streets from and towards the Capital to 80kmph.
“The Abu Dhabi Police approach drivers to exercise alert because of decreased perceivability during the fog. They are encouraged to follow changing speed limits showed on electronic data sheets,” online media posts gave by the police said.
The police had enacted speed decrease framework on Al Ain – Dubai street ( Al Fouah – Al Hiyar ), Mohammed container Rashid Road (Abu Dhabi – Dubai), Maktoum canister Rashid Road (Abu Dhabi – Dubai), Sweihan-Al Sad Road and on Nahil – Al Hiyar Road.
Drivers were asked to build the distance between vehicles to keep away from accidents and to never overtake/move to another lane in low perceivability conditions.
The penalty for not clinging to safe driving guidelines during fog is Dh500 and four dark focuses, as indicated by the Federal Traffic Law.
