In his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has given Law No. (11) of 2021 in part amending Law No. (13) of 2016 concerning judicial authorities in the emirate of Dubai.
As per the new law, the Secretariat General of the Dubai Judicial Council is liable for offering the managerial types of assistance, data, insights and examination needed by the council to complete its capacities and obligations. The Secretary General of the Council is selected by goodness of an announcement gave by the Ruler of Dubai.
The new law states that the Secretary General of the Council selects and directs the activities of the Secretariat General’s group, and the Chairman of the Judicial Council will characterize the capacities and duties of the Secretariat General.
Sheik Mohammed likewise gave Decree No. (21) of 2021 favoring Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi from Dubai Police and delegating him as Secretary General of the Dubai Judicial Council. This declaration repeals Decree No. (7) of 2014 on the Secretary General of Dubai Judicial Council and whatever other enactment that negates or difficulties its articles.
Both Law No. (11) of 2021 and Decree No. 21 of 2021 are substantial from their dates of issuance and will be distributed in the Official Gazette.
